EXPEDITION TO THE HIMALAYA MOUNTAINS and GDV MEASUREMENTS AT HIGH ALTITUDES
And we decided to go there, to the "Home of the Snows", having set three main goals to be achieved:
Our 8-day expedition started from Katmandu, the capital of Nepal. We trekked in the Sagarmatha National Park and reached the Everest Base. On April 30 nine Russian people were brought from Katmandu to Lukla, a mountain settlement at 2840 m altitude, by plane and helicopter. We started our first-day trip right away and managed to trek to Phakding (2610 m) within some 2,5 hours. At Phakding we stopped for night. Next day we trekked much longer (6-8 hours) and the route was much more difficult. Mountain track went up and up, to 3440 m above the sea level. Not all the members of our group were able to survive it. Next day came out even harder: from Namche Bazar, the capital of the sherpas – local mountain people, we moved up to Tengboche, sacred place of the mountain people, famous for its magnificent Buddhist monastery at 3860 m altitude. We spent a whole day in Tengboche, carrying out a lot of experiments, and next day by helicopter were taken up to Lobuche at 4910 m. But not really to Lobuche. The day was very foggy and the helicopter was not able to bring us up. What we had to do was to climb up 3 hours with heavy rucksacks in the cold mist and snowstorm. Two days we spent up there, most courageous and experienced of us climbed 5700 m. After having enjoyed exotics of the altitudes we started our 2-day was back. At each place where we stopped GDV measurements were carried out. We were able to follow very interesting process: the physical and psychological state of the participants demonstrated significant changes with each altitude reached. Acclimatization procedure and altitude sickness could be well tracked, too. Unbelievable results were achieved testing Himalaya mountain people, the Sherpas. Their condition was 100 % different from ours with very bad GDV-grams. As you understand, there was practically no electricity there, only sometimes we could charge computer batteries. The GDV Camera instrument was working only in battery mode and demonstrated quite stable operation. At the moment we are processing materials of these measurements and hope that they will be of considerable interest. Now we can assert that the GDV Camera instrument can successfully be used at 5 000 m altitudes above the sea level and maybe higher. At the same time, in Tengboche, near sacred monastery, we performed experiments with Altered States of Consciousness and, namely, transmission of information from Nepal to Moscow. These experiments were successful, and from our point of view with the GDV Camera complex we stably registered Altered State of Consciousness of the operator in the process of transmitting information. Now we are preparing a new, main expedition to the "Home of the Snows", which will presumably take place in September 2001. We hope that it will bring new results, and, moreover, that we again will experience spiritual unification and awakening with mountain forces, and will be enlighten by the mountain sacred air of beauty and eternity. |
